We were excited to feature a keynote speech by School Based Health Alliance’s President, John Schlitt. who discussed health care reform and what it means for school based health centers moving forward. The conference consisted of variety of breakout sessions that were very well received by our attendees. Sessions included: Billing and Coding Update, Hallways to Health Panel, Oral Health and Dental Emergencies among Students, Evidence Based Mental Health Assessment, Sustainable Funding for Behavioral Health, Supporting the Health Needs of Diverse Populations and Newcomers, Social and Emotional Wellness of the School Community, and Telemedicine: The Future is Now.

In addition to the chair massages, the vendor exhibit including information provided by Amerigroup, Riverside Health, Care Clix, Center for School Mental Health, and the School Health Corporation.
MASBHC was really excited to present our traditional Apple Awards to Senator Rich Madaleno and Delegate Bonnie Cullison for their support and guidance on the recent passing of the Council for the Advancement of School Based Health Bill. Senator Madaleno attended the conference and was given his Apple award by MASBHC President Barb Masiulis. Although Delegate Cullison was not able to attend we still wanted to acknowledge her support of school-based health.
MASBHC’s 2015 Annual Conference would not have been possible without support from our sponsors: Maryland State Department of Education and Kaiser Permanente.
It was another successful conference and we couldn’t be more appreciative of all the folks that made it go off without a hitch. MASBHC strives to give our conference attendees a day of new experiences and useful information and we definitely succeeded with this year’s conference. Thanks to all of our attendees, sponsors, and speakers. Special thanks to the MASBHC Technical Assistance Committee for all their hard work in making this wonderful day come together and to the MASBHC Board of Directors for their support year round!
