Maryland SBHC’s

The Maryland Assembly on School Based Health Care (MASBHC) was created in 1997 as an advocacy organization to represent school based health centers. State grant funding supported MASBHC and continues today. These funds are used to support the technical assistance and training component of the organization. MASBHC is an official state affiliate of the School-Based Health Alliance.

Today, MASBHC is the leading advocacy voice for Maryland’s 80 school based health centers.

During the 2015-2016 school year, 34,187 students were enrolled in Maryland School Based Health Centers by their parents/guardians, in which 54,122 visits occurred to Maryland School Based Health Centers.

  • 32,894 visits were for somatic care.
