We welcomed Dr. Elizabeth Matsui from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Lisa Bell from University of Maryland’s Breathmobile for our first webinar, Breathe Easy: Treating Asthma in the SBHC. Dr. Matsui to discussed diagnosis and treatment of students suffering with chronic asthma and Ms. Bell discussed resources available to communities throughout Baltimore for kids with asthma.

On Thursday January 26th we welcomed Tawanna Kane, who is a certified yoga teacher and mindfulness-based stress reduction instructor, for our second installment focused on mindfulness in schools. Ms. Kane discussed the physical changes found in students practicing mindfulness and the benefits of mindfulness in schools.

Mindfulness for Adolescents 

On Monday May 8th we welcomed Dr. Marc Fishman, Medical Director of Maryland Treatment Centers and Assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Fishman’s webinar discussed substance use and psychiatric disorders in youth.
